Canyonlands was created by tributaries and water movement from the Green River and Colorado River over millions of years. The park is home to deep canyons, towering pinnacles, buttes and mesas, expanding for 527 miles. With three distinct areas– The Needles, The Maze and Island in the Sky, visitors are able to experience remarkable landscapes and unique views in each. The best way to experience all that Canyonlands National Park has to offer is to strap on your hiking boots, and start on one of the many trails.
