More About Colorado Backpacking Trips

Why a Guided Backpacking Trip in Colorado?

Colorado is home to the heart of the Rocky Mountains - Rocky Mountain National Park, where waterfalls, soaring peaks, glaciers, rivers, and wildlife offer adventure to travelers from around the world. It is also home to the amazing Flat Tops Wilderness, a stunning alpine plateau with pristine lakes, alpine ridges, beautiful meadows, wildlife and more. A guided backpacking trip with Wildland Trekking allows you to explore these amazing destinations, and to do it with an increased level of safety, expert guidance, worry-free travel (our trips are all-inclusive), and an opportunity to learn a tremendous amount about the area you're hiking in.

Rocky Mountain National Park or the Flat Tops?

Either of these destinations are great for a backpacking trip in Colorado. However, knowing a bit more about each of them will help you make the best decision for which one to explore. Rocky Mountain National Park backpacking trips are great for people who specifically want to experience this world-famous national park. "Rocky" offers a high alpine wonderland with stunning highlights that wow visitors. We're likely to be sharing the Park with other hikers, as it's very popular. The Flat Tops offer more of a deep wilderness experience with solitude. The sites up high are breathtaking, but take a little bit more work to get there. Once you get there though, we can count on having it all or mostly to ourselves.

The Wildland Backpacking Experience

Wildland Trekking began in 2005 as a backpacking company. We've branched out since then to offer inn-based hiking tours, basecamp tours, llama treks, horse-assisted trips and more, but at our core we are still first and foremost a backpacking company. Our Colorado backpacking trips are all-inclusive adventures led by expert guides. You can relax and let us take care of almost everything except the hiking. We provide local transportation, permits and fees, gear, meals, and more so you can focus 100% on thoroughly enjoying your hiking adventure!
