“In the Fall
of 2006, we went on the Wildland Trekking Company's South
Rim Loop Hike, and it was great. They did a sensational job
of preparing us for the hike, and our guide, Eb, was
friendly and skillful. I would recommend this trip and this
company to anyone interested in a safe, exciting, and fun
hiking trip." Walter, 42 |

This hike is our classic
South Rim Canyon tour! Great for families or guests interested in a trip
to the canyon bottom with moderate hiking, it boasts some of the best
views in the Canyon. Spectacular
vistas await your arrival on the South Rim, where you will descend the
famous South Kaibab Trail. Spending two nights near historic Phantom
Ranch, we then proceed to Indian Gardens (a spring that watered ancient
garden plots for centuries) and hike out the Bright Angel Trail. Geologic history and
cultural history are everywhere on this hike, as this trail was used
by copper miners in the late nineteenth century and was also used by
horse thieves to move their loot across the canyon. |
