Our
Rim-to-Rim Tour is a Canyon classic and deservedly so. We begin our hike on the cooler, shaded North Rim where we
descend the North Kaibab Trail. We then meet up with Bright Angel Creek
and follow it to Cottonwood Campground, a stunning desert oasis for our
first night. Our second campsite is the famous Bright Angel Campground,
and on the way we will take a side trip to Ribbon Falls, one of the
quintessential Canyon waterfalls. During the evening of the second day,
we enjoy Phantom Ranch and the Colorado River, then continue our journey
on the third day to Indian Garden Campground. We spend our last night at
this ancient spring where Native Americans had seasonal gardens for
centuries. We top out the fourth day at the South Rim, where a
shuttle awaits us to complete the journey back to the North Rim. |
