Beginning either in Los Mochis (10-day itinerary) or in Chihuahua (8-day itinerary), we make our way to Lola's Guesthouse close to the Urique Canyon rim. On the 10-day itinerary, we ride the Chihuahua al Pacifico Train, rated one of the "25 Best Loved Railway Journeys" in the world.
After an enchanting night at Lola's forested perch, we begin our burro-supported trek into the depths of the Canyon. Hiking for two days, we then set up a base camp along the Rio Urique. We'll spend the next three days exploring this area, which features hot springs, oases, wildlife, and adventurous hiking. Our route continues past archeologicaly sites, past a Tarahumaran Village, and through some of the breathtaking orchards that dot parts of the upper valley.
